Album Review: The Kids Can't Loose
I don't remember how I started listening to, or even found out about this band, but I'm so glad I did. A Loss For Words is a Post Hardcore / Pop Punk band from Massachusetts. They've got a decent yet very post hardcore sound, yet keep catchy pop punk rhythms and melodies all together, they can hold their own against any more well know bands in the same genre set.
For me, what puts the icing on the cake is the lyrics, no the lyrics aren't deep and metaphoric, but they are personal, and with the lead vocals done by Matt Arsenault emotionally and lyrically this band can preform. All but the drummer add to the vocals you'll hear on this record, and honestly, I think Matt. A's voice sounds like a young version of the guy from Rise Against, but that's just my opinion ;)
There are a lot of very generic bands in this genre, that are so lackluster, and it was refreshing to hear some feeling, some passion in a band. You can tell they work hard, and love every minute of it. This album is what's going to send them places even though it's their 6th release, expect even greater things from them in the future. I'll be looking out because these guys are only going to get better, check them out, support them, love them.
